Description: The Piccadilly store of Fortnum & Mason is well known as a luxury food emporium. Jestico + Whiles were engaged to investigate ways of improving the visual connection between the five trading floors as well as improving vertical circulation, encouraging shoppers away from the ground floor. After extensive analysis of this historic building it was proposed to form a new four storey atrium in the centre of the store, crowned by a new rooflight and a grand helical staircase at its base.
