Description: On a fifteen hectare site in Gloucestershire, Jestico + Whiles’ masterplan reclaims redundant gravel workings to create a sustainable development of 160 homes, hotel and recreational facilities. Each working is designed to provide a water reservoir to reinforce existing flood measures and to be surrounded by reinforced indigenous landscaping. Particular attention is to be provided to the land-water interface to encourage macrophyte population.
The structures are designed to benefit from passive solar systems with the potential for heating from water/air heat pumps.
