Outright winner of a limited competition, the scheme was chosen for its clear rationalisation of a complex range of site problems.
The deceptively simple and elegant design restores urban form and scale to the area whilst providing 27 high-quality, low-cost flats, houses and maisonettes for special needs’ groups.
Particular attention was paid to creating robust and attractive circulation spaces that have helped to foster a strong sense of community.
