Description: In competition, Jestico + Whiles won the contract for the complete design, project management and implementation of the new house style, including new logo, menu design and furniture, as well as providing all architectural, mechanical, electrical and structural consultancies.
The new design approached involved the use of a palette of natural materials: beech, maple, cherry and a specially designed family of fabric-covered light fittings.
The essence of the design was to capture the traditions of the typical fin de siede French brasserie in a contemporary style, mindful of the new approach to combining bar drinking with table dining in a coherent, compatible environment that encourage the client to stay longer. The popular success of the first unit in Ludgate Hill led to the opening of four more Central London outlets almost immediately.
