Title: Sri Thai Soho
Location: London, UK
Description: “The old Sri Siam has been re-invented. This is one of the of the best restaurant makeovers in London.” The London Magazine
Sri Thai Soho sits in a key position on Soho’s Old Compton Street. It is a wholly contemporary restaurant, of 120 covers infused with classic Thai motifs and materials.
Zones are subtly defined to create a hierarchy of formality, from the “express noodle” zone adjacent to the entrance, to the “bird cage”, a sky-lit room enclosed by translucent sack cloths.
Lighting is based upon silhouettes and shadow play, using incense coils and fish traps to throw moving, abstract shadows onto deep red walls and rice sack screens.
