In line with current government thinking on the re-use of Brownfield sites and high density living this landmark project encapsulates these principles in a beautifully conceived and elegantly executed housing development.
The design comprises an eleven-storey elliptical tower and a seven-storey rectilinear apartment building, linked at ground floor. Responding to the constraints of a long and narrow site, each of the buildings presents its narrow elevation to the river which enables the design to establish a vertical emphasis whilst providing each apartment with a dramatic river aspect. Ocean Wharf is featured on the CABE website as an example of high quality design.
