“One Aldwych displays the latest brand of slick minimalism - the architectural equivalent of a Gucci or Prada suit.” Blueprint Magazine

In the spring of 1996 Jestico + Whiles were appointed by Gordon Campbell Gray as his architects and interior architects for the conversion of the old Morning Post offices into a new 5-star hotel. The Grade 2 listed building now houses a 105 bed hotel, award winning bars, restaurant, cinema and health spa. Full architecture and interior design services were provided by Jestico + Whiles in assistance with Mary Fox Linton.

The main entrance to the building has been re-established at the centre of the Aldywch façade, which leads to the double-height lobby bar. The reception is deliberately concealed, with the sense of space accentuated by white stone floor and white walls. Each bedroom design is unique, embraced in a common language of stone, glass and steel, animated by sweeping curved partitions.
