Trevor Osborne’s Property Group appointed Jestico + Whiles for the Interior Design of the Hotel element of their complex redevelopment of the Grade 1 listed Oxford Gaol. The hotel is located in a mix of buildings, including the former prison wings and new extensions each completed by a different architect.
The design balances these different elements in a subtle manner, carefully opening up the origin cells to form 86 spectacular, contemporary bedrooms and bathrooms whilst retaining the essential elements of the original beautiful engineering.
Malmaison has been selected as operator and the public spaces in the former atrium of the prison wing have been transformed with a witty interpretation of their brand style.
