Description: In response to the requirement to provide a corporate headquarters to reflect the organisation’s aspirations, identity and working methods, the resultant building is full of optimism and brightness while highly sustainable.
The plan and section have evolved from principles of natural ventilation but are used to great effect. A day-lit slot separates cellular meeting rooms from open plan work space, under a gently arcing vault, which diffuses day light throughout.
This slot, crossed by delicate bridges with frameless glass balustrades, is softly top-lit through a lay-light of light-diffusing panels. Blocks of saturated colour mark the circulation cores, contrasting with natural stone and planes of brilliant white.
