Description: Jestico + Whiles has received planning consent from Southampton Council for the new Mountbatten complex, a nanotechnology research centre for the University of Southampton.
The £40m, 11000m2 building will comprise clean rooms, laser laboratories and academic offices; it replaces a similar facility destroyed by fire on the same site. The new building will provide state of the art facilities for the world-leading nanotech research activities at Southampton.
Clean room designers are CH2M Hill IDC with Gifford’s as structural engineers.
