Description: Won in open competition Jestico + Whiles are the architects behind Woolston Riverside.

Organised by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) the 12.5 hectare regeneration site on the River Itchen in South Hampton includes 1500 homes, marine employment, community facilities and a range of leisure uses will be created over the next 8 years, commencing construction in 2007. The architects’ masterplan is structured to connect the existing community back to the waterside for the first time in 100 years. The existing Woolston High street will be extended to the riverside terminating in a new square and quayside. Three 20–storey land mark residential towers are orientated towards Southampton city centre, screening the public spaces beneath and creating wide panoramas across Southampton water and the Solent.
